Pickled Mustard Eggs

Boil and Peel 6 eggs*
1/4 cup yellow prepared mustard
2/3 cup of sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup vinegar
3/4 cup water
1 teaspoon turmeric

Mix all ingredients in saucepan and bring to a boil, stirring to dissolve sugar and salt, and then remove from heat.

Place the peeled hard boiled eggs in a quart jar. Pour sauce over the hard boiled eggs and let cool. Refrigerate for at least 72 hours; the longer the better.

These are great alone or mixed into potato salad, or try using for a nice twist with deviled eggs.

*Perfect hard boiled eggs: put 6 room temp eggs in 2 quarts of cold water. Bring the water up to 190˚ (just beginning to simmer where tiny bubbles are just breaking the surface). Turn off heat and allow eggs to cook for 10 minutes; temp should drop to 170˚ in 10 minutes and eggs will be done but can continue in the water without over cooking.

I have never heard of these, TallCakes, Are they good???

I really appreciate all the help you have given me on Collectors Wkly. I am wingletts there. I didn't know you did cakes, and collected all these cake platters , ect... They are just beautiful. I have been in broadcasting for over 35 years, but kinda retired right now. I am also VP of thesouthernstar.org. We promote Artists (singers) that are famous and not famous...ones that want to make or be found for recordings with a major music company. Right now, I have taking a break from that, due to catching up with and from my trip of 2 months in Texas...cleaning out my estate of nothing but dishes, dishes ect...lol So right now I am busy just trying to find out what I have in storage from my past and my future....I am tired....I love cooking, I am southern cook and love those specials of gormet at times.I CAN'T MAKE CAKES...LOLSo maybe you can teach me something here. Well I just had to come and thank you for all your help and see what you have...IT IS BEAUTIFUL , I MEAN BEAUTIFUL

Well here is my email wingletts at comcast dot net

Looking forward in hearing from you ...
