My name is Don Bolin. Due to the current economy I'm working on early retirement until something better comes along. So I need something to do to occupy my time. My son James has set up this web site for me and we are working on the details as we go. My last career was that of an architect but I have always enjoyed all aspects of cooking, especially baking. I also enjoy photography and cycling when it is warm. For my cycling I ride a Bacchetta recumbent bicycle, as my back doesn't like the standard diamond frame cycles. As an outgrowth of my gourmet cake baking I started collecting cake stands for displaying the cakes. My collection has grown and focuses on Early American Pattern Glass. I enjoy photographing nature and often submit images to the local paper. Shortly after I started doing this they asked to interview me about my photography and published a short article in the paper including a number of the images I had submitted. Here is a link to the article in the local Shelbyville Times Gazette.
